Together with our partner, EdStats, the EPDC developed efficient and powerful data programs to extract education indicators from household surveys using STATA. These files can be downloaded for your own use.

The following STATA files are available for download as zip files:

  • Indicator Calculation Macros These files show the calculations of the indicators we collect from household surveys. They can be downloaded as .zip files for use with the Stata statistical package.
  • Attainment Extracts highest educational attainment from household survey data sets by age and sex of household member, and wealth and region of household.
  • Efficiency Extracts promotion, repetition, and dropout rates in primary and secondary school by grade, sex, sub-national region, wealth, and education of mother. package.
  • Literacy Extracts literacy rates as measured by reading tests for survery respondents by sex, sub-naitonal region, and highest educational attainment.
  • Participation Extracts school intake and attendance rates in primary and secondary school by grade, sex, sub-national region, wealth, and education of mother.
